OUR MISSION

HTP Homes believes that no human is expendable and everyone deserves a second chance. We teach construction and job readiness skills to at-risk and justice system involved individuals.  We strive to empower each person we serve to be productive and successful members of their communities.

Approximately 60 percent of returning citizens were unemployed before their initial incarceration and are unemployed a year after being released. Every day we strive to help individuals visualize a life different from what their circumstances dictate.

Existing hiring policies and the social stigma of having been incarcerated often limit access to jobs with sustainable wages and opportunities for career advancement. Research shows that without this type of meaningful employment, many formerly incarcerated individuals will return to prison in just a few years. We believe that Second Chance Employment (employing those with criminal records) can break this destructive cycle of recidivism and benefit job seekers as well as those who employ them.

We understand that our job does not end with teaching trade and workforce readiness skills. We work with third-party partners to provide wraparound support with a focus on emotional wellness, anger management, and financial literacy.

Our goal is 100 percent job placement after successful completion of the program. Family-sustaining jobs will break the cycle of unemployment, incarceration, and recidivism.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout.
